Native Landscapes & Gardens is seeking a talented Landscape Designer / Architect to lead high-end residential landscape projects from initial client consultation through design approval and project handoff.

Role Overview

This is a highly client-facing role focused on relationship building, design leadership, and guiding homeowners through the full sales and design process.

You’ll work closely with clients to develop thoughtful, buildable outdoor environments that blend natural beauty, functionality, and ecological design principles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead residential landscape design projects from consultation to signed agreement
  • Conduct site visits, client meetings, and project discovery
  • Develop conceptual and detailed landscape plans, planting layouts, and material selections
  • Present designs professionally and guide clients through revisions and final approvals
  • Collaborate with project management and field teams to ensure successful execution
  • Maintain strong communication and client relationships throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional landscape design or landscape architecture experience
  • Strong design sense, horticultural knowledge, and understanding of residential construction
  • Proficiency in landscape design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Vectorworks, etc.)
  • Excellent client communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and move clients confidently through the sales process
  • Degree or certification in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, Horticulture, or related field preferred

Compensation

  • Negotiable draw-based salary structure based on experience
  • Designers charge and collect their own design fees (average $1,500–$3,000 per project)
  • 50+ qualified inbound and outside sales-generated design leads provided annually
  • Additional commission opportunities available based on involvement in:
    • Design supervision
    • Project management
    • Installation oversight
    • Enhanced sales participation
